With the inclusion of a C-axis, the Alpha lathe now provides full milling, drilling and tapping capabilities, reducing the need for second operations on one-offs and small batch components.
In terms of C-axis specification, users can optionally select between a driven tool turret and a driven tool toolpost. The turret features eight tool stations for VDI 20/DIN 5480 bx 0.8 type tools, and offers maximum power of 2.2 kW and maximum spindle speed of 6,000 rpm. The toolpost is of Capto C6 type and provides a maximum driven tool speed of 2,000 rpm.
