Hanita 4503 end mills join ITC’s Widia Slimline catalogue

Hanita 4503 series of solid carbide end mills now featuring in ITC's Widia Slimline Catalogue are intended for high performance finish machining and the cutting of hard materials. They are manufactured from a high quality micro grain carbide substrate and TiAlN coated for the machining of cast iron, steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous materials and high temperature alloys for general machine shops as well as manufacturers in the aerospace, automotive, medical, F1 and mould and die making sectors.

Widia Hanita 4503 end mills can be used at low cutting speeds with high feed rates for maximum stock removal rates or, alternatively, at high cutting speeds for finish machining operations. The centre cutting three-flute range has an 45º flute angle optimised to rapidly remove chips from the cutting area to prevent re-cutting of swarf. This enhances material removal rates and safeguards surface finish. Hanita 4503 series end mills are available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 mm diameters with shank diameters from 4 to 20 mm. With a cutting length from 3 to 38 mm and an overall length from 50 to 104 mm, they have been designed to be rigid and stable when cutting difficult materials at high speeds and feeds. Widia UK agent ITC recommends using the series on robust and rigid machine tools. However, it says that the range's geometry is capable of good results used on lower powered and less robust units which will benefit from reduced stress on the machine tool and spindle.
