Haas ST range offers big bore turning with Y-axis
For high capacity without the space requirements of a larger footprint lathe, the Haas Automation range of ST series big bore turning centres now includes two Y-axis models.
The ST-25Y offers a maximum capacity of 381 by 533 mm. The machine is equipped with a Y-axis that provides ±50.8 mm of travel, and includes high torque live tooling and a servo-driven C-axis. A 12-station hybrid VDI/BOT turret is standard. The ST-35Y offers the same specification except there is a larger maximum capacity of 457 by 533 mm.
ST turning centres offer more power, a larger chuck, and greater bar capacity without having to step up to what is considered a large machine, says Haas. Six big bore models are available, with maximum capacities up to 648 x 2,032 mm.
