Haas introduces UMC-750 universal 5-axis machining centre

The Haas UMC-750 universal machining centre is able to provide both 3+2 and simultaneous 5-axis machining. The 40-taper vertical machining centre features 762 by 508 by 508 mm travels and an integrated dual-axis trunnion table. It is equipped with an 8,100 rpm or optional 12,000 rpm inline, direct-drive spindle, and comes as standard with a 40+1 tool side-mount toolchanger.

The UMC-750's dual-axis trunnion table positions parts to nearly any angle for 5-sided (3+2) machining, or provides full simultaneous 5-axis motion for contouring and complex machining. The trunnion provides +35° and -110° of tilt and 360° rotation.

For the UK, the Haas Wireless Intuitive Probing System is fitted as standard, along with dynamic work offsets and tool centre point control. The former allow users to position the work offset anywhere on the part relative to the intersection of the rotary axes, thus facilitating easier set-up.
