Floyd introduces Alesa milling line for high speed high feed machining

Floyd Automatic is introducing the Alesa milling line with end mill and face mill options that have been developed for high speed and high feed milling processes. The AO10, AO15 and AP16 end mills, available with diameters from 16 to 40 mm, have been joined by the AO10, AO15, AO20 and AP16 range of face mills with diameter options ranging from 32 to 160 mm.

The Alesa AO10 milling cutters are available as end mill or screw-on type cutters with diameters including 16, 20, 25 and 32 mm with two, three, four or five insert pockets. For higher removal rates, the AO10 face mill is available in 32, 40 and 50 mm diameters with five, six and eight insert seats respectively. The AO15 end mills are offered in 25, 32 and 40 mm diameters with face mills for 40, 50, 63 and 80 mm diameters. This combination is offered with anything from two to nine insert pockets depending upon cutter diameter. The combination of end mills and face mills with through coolant facility enables high material removal profile milling, slotting, face milling and circular interpolation machining. The HSS-E, HSS-E chip splitting, Alesa X2, Carbide HM and Carbide HM-F Alesa inserts offer a host of geometries and are either TiN, TiAlN, AlCrN or AlCrN-VA coated. HSS and carbide inserts are available with a multitude of radii and geometries that can be PVD coated. Alesa says with its range of cutting tools and corresponding insert grades it is able to offer users a machining solution for anything from plastics, brass and copper through to steel, stainless steel, cast irons and aluminium alloys, as well as titanium, Inconel, super duplex and other difficult to machine materials. The Alesa range of milling cutters is available with two insert sizes, SD09 and SD12, offering machining depths up to 1.5 and 2.5 mm respectively.
