Flow-line milling added to NCL
NCL multi-axis machining software now feature flow-line milling that automates the machining strategy of toolpaths created within NCL.
Flow-line milling is typically used to machine rib-top and fillet surfaces. Among the new strategies that have been added to the flow-line milling option include:
* The ability to machine multiple surfaces in a single operation. This capability further extends its existing machining capability and provides the user with a greater 5-axis milling functionality;
* The option of milling around avoidance surfaces. This new option improves surface finishes and reduces machine tool wear;
* The ability to control the axis of the tool with a secondary part surface to assist in machining highly curved surfaces. This feature is designed to offer the user more tool control when working with complicated 5-axis parts.
