Ficep launches Rapid drilling line

Exploiting the cost efficiency benefits of indexable carbide drilling tools, the Ficep Rapid CNC drilling line is designed for processing angles and flats. To aid productivity, a CNC materials handling system loads angles on to a conveyor track which then clamps the workpiece in position automatically.

The machine's two drilling heads are equipped with direct drive spindles and an automatic toolchanger having six positions for each of the spindles. The CNC controls spindle positioning and feed rates, while each axis features linear guides with controlled servomotors and ballscrews. An additionalauxiliary axis of 200 mm allows independent control of the two spindle in the X-axis.

Rapid CNC drilling lines are modular and can therefore incorporate scribing, hard stamp marking, single or double shearing, or a circular carbide saw. Processed angles, scrap or swarf can be offloaded automatically at predetermined or selectable positions to reduce manual handling and sorting.
