Put simply, an unlimited number of 3D imagers can now be placed in array configurations, virtually anywhere in the manufacturing process; all scanning simultaneously and controlled by a single computer. With regard to scanning accurac, Cobalt is able to achieve accuracy of 27 micron. The device is calibrated as per VDI/VDE 2634 part 2.
Combining blue light projection, stereo cameras and on-board processing, Faro says that Cobalt can capture and process millions of 3D data points in seconds. Offering configurable field of view, the 3D imager is designed for quick and easy integration on the production floor and connects with Faro CAM2 Measure 10 metrology software.
