The scanner is said to provide fast, colour and detailed scan data, without the frustration of constantly losing tracking, adhering external targets to parts or the time required to manually register point clouds.
Featuring a mid-range measurement volume, the Freestyle3D Objects is easier to use than narrow field-of-view scanners (which have high resolution but are difficult to handle as the tracking is easily lost), yet provides more detail and precision than large volume handheld scanners.
Faro says that the balanced approach of detail and ease-of-use makes the Freestyle3D Objects suited to a number of challenging measurement applications, including reverse engineering for product design. It offers a scan range of 0.3 to 0.8 m.
