Face milling productivity gain of 30 per cent promised

The Dodeka face milling program is "unique in the world". It results in a productivity gain - with identical power consumption of the milling spindle - of 30 per cent, as compared with the products available so far on the market. Numerous field tests at customers and immediate follow-up orders confirm this performance. The program was engineered for higher cutting speeds and feed rates with lower cutting forces, although it is possible to increase the productivity on machines with less spindle power, in the area of 5-15 kW. However, higher feed rates up to 0.6 mm/tooth are also possible with Dodeka. The system needs only a single screw for insert indexing. Indexable inserts with 12 cutting edges are available in five grades and two geometries. The unique new, patented indexable-insert geometry with highly positive cutting edges guarantees a soft cut and applications in a great variety of workpiece materials, from steel and cast iron as well as stainless materials up to high-temperature alloys like titanium and Inconel.
