Mitsubishi carbide's AHX640W face milling cutter offers greatly improved productivity and higher cost efficiency when machining cast iron and ductile cast iron parts.
This is due to the use of a newly developed CVD coated grade, MC5020, that displays low cutting resistance, and is combined with unique double-sided heptagonal inserts. The double-sided inserts offer 14 corners, enabling immediate reductions in tool costs.
The cutter range covers fine pitch and super fine pitch and are available from 80- 315 mm. The super fine pitch type uses a unique space saving wedge clamping system to ensure the maximum number of teeth per diameter can be used; which in turn promotes ultra high efficiency machining. Additionally the clamp wedge is designed to act as an anti-fly mechanism.
Three different chip breakers are available to suit various applications. The MK breaker, with double positive cutting edge geometry, offers low cutting resistance and makes it suitable for applications on less rigid and older machines. In addition, HK and WK types support heavy and wiper style machining, respectively.
