Eximgo introduces the 3D Creator position measurement system
The 3D Creator precision optical digitiser is described as an affordable measurement system for use in reverse engineering. Three cameras on the system's camera bar capture infrared light from the emitters on a handheld probe (or scanner). A 'leapfrog' function allows the operator to move freely around an object without losing the original reference points.
An integral image processing and control module computes the location and orientation of the tip of the probe. A Dynamic Reference Frame (DRF), available as an optional upgrade, allows the control module to automatically compensate for relative movement between the part and the camera bar when scanning very large objects.
The equipment has a wide field of view and offers 100 micron accuracy at a range of up to 5 m.
