ETG launches four-variant, 200 mm chuck TC200 turning range

Following the launch of the new brand of Vulcan high quality cost-effective machine tools, Engineering Technology Group (ETG) is flagging up the arrival of the new TC200 turning centre.

As part of the TC Series, the TC200 is the smallest and most compact machine in the range, boasting a 200 mm chuck diameter.

The TC200 is available in four variants to meet the needs of small component turning operations. The base model TC200 is the entry-level cost-efficient solution with a single spindle and single turret. As a base model, the TC200 weighs 4,500 kg, has a swing over bed of 460 mm, a maximum turning diameter of 280 mm, a spindle speed range of 25 to 4,200 rpm and a spindle bore of 61 mm diameter - combined with the ETG bar feeding solutions, this can deliver a cost-effective production cell. All this is packed into a footprint of just 2.44 by 1.6 m.

The TC200M variant offers live tooling stations that deliver speeds from 25 to 4,000 rpm. In addition to the TC200 and TC200M, the TC200 is available with an ‘L’ variant, the TC200L – a long bed version that extends Z-axis travel from the standard 490 mm to 740 mm.

The four variants take in the TC200, TC200L, TC200M and the TC200ML.

Every machine in this series is equipped with direct drive servo motors for smooth and rapid traverse movements of 30 m/min in X and Z axes, which is complemented by a high precision, high speed spindle motor that maximises machining performance. As standard, the TC200 Series is supplied with a 3-bar coolant pump, 130 l capacity coolant tank, eight-position hydraulic tooling turret, automatic lubrication system, tool kit, work light, three-colour beacon light, heat exchanger for electrical cabinet, chip conveyor, programmable tailstock, automatic part catcher and automatic tool probing.

Commenting upon this new market entry, ETG’s Group managing director, Martin Doyle, says: “To enter the market segment where customers purchase machines at a particular price point, we wanted to ensure that we have the utmost in quality with a high specification machine construction that will give ETG a unique selling point. With the TC Series, we can meet our core competence of ETG assured quality and performance at a price point that will appeal to every machine shop.”
