Etalon LaserTracer-NG available from Mantech
Etalon's LaserTracer-NG self-tracking laser interferometer is developed specifically for the sub-micron geometric analysis, monitoring and accuracy improvement of machine tools and measuring machines. The system, which is available in the UK from Mantech Geometrics, works by automatically tracking a reflector to identify geometrical deviations. The compensation data determined by the system can be imported directly into the control software of the machine tool or CMM.
The LaserTracer-NG is smaller, weighs less and offers a larger angular range than the company's original LaserTracer, thus facilitating measurement in limited machine space. Moreover, the acceleration of the machine permitted during measurement has nearly doubled to deal with highly dynamic machine movements.
Shop floor suitability was also a major aspect when redesigning the measurement system. As a result, LaserTracer-NG is equipped with a closed housing, just two connectors and a more flexible cable.
