Esprit 2017 delivers a smarter, simpler, faster machining

Esprit 2017 delivers a smarter, simpler, faster machining process with expert toolpath, streamlined user control, and accelerated processing power. Enhanced milling and turning strategies, faster calculation of in-process stock, and new 3-axis and wire EDM functions.

Available from CAM Supplies & Services, the software’s intelligent, optimised toolpath utilises powerful new algorithms to deliver exceptional toolpaths, more reliably, with fewer clicks. Smarter toolpaths in Esprit 2017 include sophisticated new 3-axis steep/shallow milling for streamlined machining of complex parts, smart facing with intelligent stock management, responsive 5-axis swarf machining on a wide range of part geometries, and precise tool positioning along lathe contours regardless of insert shape.

The steps needed to go from design to machining are simplified in ESPRIT 2017 through easier editing of features to bypass geometry not requiring machining, automatic recognition of more details inside complex holes for better automation, and optimised wire EDM to cut awkward profiles more efficiently with new support for pocketing on open profiles.

Machining processes are put on the fast track with a refinement of raw processing power in Esprit 2017. In-process stock models are computed in seconds rather than minutes to accelerate programming time. Advancements in ESPRIT’s ProfitMilling technology improve performance inside pockets for better chip evacuation, coolant access and smoother control of machine acceleration. Plus, wire EDM programmers can now instantly customise and update the data in their Esprit Expert database while they work.
