Esab applies ergonomics to Aristo Tech welding helmet and Aristo Air respirator design

Esab's Aristo Tech welding helmet and the Aristo Air Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) have been designed to combine effective personal protection with comfort.

The lightweight ergonomic Esab Aristo Tech protective welding helmet also features digital lens technology, an internal LCD digital display screen and fully controllable shade levels. It can be delivered fully assembled with the Aristo Air PAPR, a THP3 (Turbine Hood Protection) system manufactured to EN12941 standards, for protection against dust and fumes. Esab's customer surveys established that operator comfort was a priority in the design of Aristo Air PAPR. This meant that it was important that it weighed under 1 kg. To help achieve this object, the unit is manufactured from lightweight polycarbonate/ABS. Long battery life from one full charge was also identified as a priority for Aristo Air. In fact, an eight-hour life has been achieved with a flow rate of 210 litre/minute. Airflow can also be adjusted to meet the air purification needs of the job in hand from between 170 and 210 litre/minute. The Aristo Air has also equipped with audio/visual 'blocked filter' warning to ensure safety. LEDs indicate levels of battery charge with a low battery alarm to help ensure continuity of work. Optional equipment ranges from a fresh air feed helmet ventilation, magnifying lenses and hearing protection.
