Emag unveils K300 gear hobber

The range of workpieces that can be machined on Emag’s K300 universal gear hobbing machine extends from module 1 pinion shafts through to module 4 helical gears. Equally wide is the range of materials that can be handled; from steel alloys and aluminium, through to brass, bronze and even plastics.

The machine accommodates a variety of gear cutting technologies, such as wet and dry hobbing, the skiving and hard milling of cylindrical gears, as well as the plunge and tangential hobbing of worm gears. It also allows for the cutting of straight bevel gears using either form milling cutters in a multi-step process or using Conikron hobs. Even out-of-round gearings can be machined, says Emag.

The K300 features up to 15 NC axes that are supplemented by the Koepfer loading device with V-gripper that, in its standard execution, can handle workpieces weighing up to 10 kg.
