Dugard launches LB range of machining centres
Dugard has expanded its range of heavy duty vertical machining centres, adding the LB series of double-column models.
Designed by Dugard's senior design team, all LB models feature a large machine structure with robust geared head. For extra functionality, every machine in the range has an optional manual or semi-automatic 90° horizontal milling head for 5-face machining. There is also an optional direct drive spindle and motor – with BT50, 10,000 rpm rating. Of Z-axis boxway design, LB range machines are also available with Z-axis roller type linear ways.
Among notable features, spindle overhang has been reduced, increasing rigidity, reducing vibration and, as a result, improving surface finish, cutting performance and accuracy, says Dugard.
The range gives 2,200-4,200 mm X-axis travel, with optional Y-axis travels of 1,200, 1,600 and 2,700 mm. Z-axis travel is 900 mm as standard with 1,100 mm as an option.
