Dual internal coolant for Walter Cut System G2042 parting blades

The use of a dual internal coolant supply for Walter’s latest reinforced parting blades from the Walter Cut System G2042 series is designed to achieve a constant and optimum operating temperature, as well as good chip control in grooving and parting-off applications exposed to high mechanical and thermal stress.

The coolant supply is applied to the blade’s rake and clearance faces; the coolant channel on the rake face runs through the top clamp so the point of emission is as close as possible to the cutting edge.

The SX grooving inserts used are fixed with a positive locking system – a characteristic that helps the coolant jet target the centre of the chip formation at full power. Such cooling also ensures that the lubricating film does not ‘tear off’, thus boosting surface finish, says Walter.

G2042 parting blades are suitable for cutting depths of up to 33 mm.
