Available from Starrag UK, Droop + Rein portal-type milling/machining centres are giants in the world of large capacity machines. Importantly, when workpiece size allows, two working zones served by separate machining heads is posible to further reduce machining costs and maximise ROI. The range embraces four models:

  • TFS machines: 40 kW, with standard X, Y and Z traverses of 7,000 by 4,500 by 2,000 mm
  • F/TF: 100 kW, 11,000 by 6,500 by 2,000 mm
  • G/GF: 150 kW, 31,000 by 12,500 by 4,000 mm
  • FOGS/D40 – 40 kW, 41,000 by 11,500 by 2,500 mm

In all cases, the machines' X-axis traverse can be extended in 500/1,000 mm increments. Importantly, the Droop + Rein patented volumetric compensation and automated laser calibration system enables the machines to achieve full 5-axis volumetric accuracy of 25 micron.
