Featuring simultaneous 5-axis machining capability, the DHF 8000 offers a 35 kW/6,000 rpm (960 Nm) 'nodding head' spindle with +60/-100° A-axiscapability, a twin-pallet (800 by 800 mm) configuration accommodating workpieces up to 2,000 kg in weight) and an ATC holding up to 196 tools.
The Fanuc 31i-5-controlled machine is equipped with HSK spindle, so widening its appeal to aerospace component manufacturers, but can also be supplied with a BT50 connection.
The machine can handle large workpieces with its 1,450 mm X-axis, 1,200 mm Y-axis and 1,500 mm Z-axis, and boasts 40 m/min rapid rates in X and Y, and 50 m/min in Z. It is equipped with dual ballscrews (Y and Z axes), along with chip evacuation and a cooling system for the machine’s spindle and ballscrews.
