Dinox modular tooling systems from Dine of Korea are available from Cutwel. They are suitable for high precision boring, drilling, tapping and milling applications as well as for rough-to-ultra fine boring.
The modular system consists of a back end mounted in a machine tool spindle that accepts standardised interchangeable front ends, thus allowing quick and accurate assembly of cutting tool combinations for most machining centres.
The 6 to 540 mm bore tooling system makes almost any operation possible, says Cutwel. Tools are available on BT-MAS, SK-DIN69871 and straight shank holders and – through the use of extensions and reducer bars – any depth is possible.
Assembly is so effective that the repeatability when locking components together using the special cone locking screw is less than 5 µm. Everything is standardised, so everything fits everything else.
Further benefits Cutwel cites are maximum rigidity due to the face-to-face clamping force of each modular element and fine adjustment for precision boring which can eliminate reaming. Toolholders are specially heat treated for long service life.
