Costs cut for long thread generation

Designed to reduce cycle times and tool costs on the generation of long threads are a new series of shell and endmills, part of the Multi-flute Indexable Thread Mill (MiTM) range. For use at high feed rates utilising 25 mm long inserts that reduce the number of required machining passes, the tooling is available in diameters from 17 mm and up to 52 mm, and with up to eight flutes. It boasts through-coolant and high rigidity for consistent thread production. Like their thread milling counterparts, the new shell and endmills not only reduce cycle times but will also generate overall savings in tool costs and improved product quality. MiTM utilises single or multiple coated inserts for either stainless steel or general machining applications. The inserts are supplied with varying numbers of teeth in a variety of pitches.
