Cost per thread slashed

Walter's Prototyp solid carbide thread milling cutters now employ fine grain carbide coating to support unrivalled hard machining performance at high feed rates and with longer tool life – and thus, reduced cost per thread.

The new coating – which contains higher than ever Wolfram carbide content – combines with the tool's flute design and finish (polish), as well as AlTiN coating to successfully operate at 30 per cent higher feed rates than previously possible in materials from 48 HRC. Even when using maximum cutting data, tool edge life increases by a factor of five to 10.
