Continuous press operation with strip end welding machinery

Output from presses and other coil-fed production lines can be increased by 20 to 30 percent using new strip end welding machines from, Leicht, Germany. Leicht manufactures two types of machine, one employing resistance welding and the other gas tungsten arc, or TIG welding. If used in conjunction with a strip accumulator able to store enough stock for press operation to continue at full speed while welding takes place, continuous process operation is possible without any loss of production.
