Cognex In-Sight 500 inspects parts at fast line speeds
The Cognex In-Sight 500 can inspect parts at production line speeds that demand a sub-7 millisecond cycle time, equivalent to approximately 200-300 frames per second (fps). Its ability to acquire images while simultaneously processing applications at 500 fps makes it an ideal vision system for relatively simple inspection applications using blobs, histogram and edges.
The In-Sight 500 fixed mount vision system is powered by the proprietary vision chip technology, Cognex VSoC (Vision System on a Chip). It can achieve speeds of 100 fps at full 1,024 by 768 pixels of resolution and 200 fps at 640 by 480 px. With windowed acquisition, it also has the ability to process images at up to 500 fps.
The In-Sight 500 system is packaged in a rugged IP65-rated housing. It is available with a full suite of In-Sight tools and communication methods, including Cognex Connect that supports EtherNet/IP and ProfiNet among other communication protocols.
