CarveSmart has developed Mitee-Bite-authorised TalonTop dovetailed jaws that are TalonGrip-ready. The TalonTop jaws are machined to accept Mitee Bite’s TalonGrip grippers that can grip on as little as 1.5 mm of material. Pairs of 6-in and 8-in TalonTop dovetailed jaws with SmartStop pins and 10-32 set screws can be provided. The 8-in pairs extend a 6-in vice to an 8-in clamping width.
The patented CarveSmart system, combined with Mitee-Bite technology, is designed for low profile gripping in production and toolroom applications. The clamp assembly is said to pull dovetailed jaws tightly in two axes while a SmartStop pin locates the jaw in the third axis, promising ±0.008 mm relocation.
