Trimos (Bowers Metrology) has launched the Labconcept Nano range of ultra-accurate, calibration machines.
The new Trimos range comprises three machines, with application ranges of 350 mm, 600 mm and 1100 mm; maximum permissible errors are 0.07 + L(mm)/2000; repeatability and resolution figures are 0.03 micron and 0.00001 mm (0.00000004 inches), respectively.
The new design Labconcept Nano provides potential users with the ideal platform for the calibration of a wide range of gauges and measuring instruments. Aided by the ease of use of the Trimos WinDHI software, the checking of internal and external dimensions is now able to be performed as a fully automatic procedure, via XYZ motorised axis.
All functions, such as the unit's displacement speed, measuring force, probing movement, measuring carriage locking and temperature compensation, are automatically controlled by electronics such that user influence is entirely eliminated from the Nano's findings, resulting in claimed unequalled high levels of measuring accuracy and repeatability.
The motorisation of the measuring carriage results in high performance in terms of measuring speed, ease of use and accuracy. Positioning can be achieved directly, using a mouse and keyboard, or via the unit's touch screen. Once positioned, measurements are entirely CNC controlled, including the execution of previously tedious functions, such as searching for gauge reversal points, ensuring the rapid, automatic measurement of plain and threaded ring and plug gauges.
