Bowers Metrology is now offering a choice of Sylvac readouts for its long-reach bore gauging system.
The company's pneumatically-activated bore gauges provide an accurate and repeatable measurement system for bores from 50 to 310 mm diameter up to 15 m deep. They are described as easy to use and are designed to deliver precision within harsh environments such as oil and gas industry applications.
Bowers' innovative modular equipment consists of gauging heads with retractable spherical anvils that are manufactured from tungsten carbide and a range of 1 m extensions that can be screwed together to achieve the required depth. The use of spherical anvils and guide-sleeves ensures accurate gauge alignment down the bore, while protecting the measuring heads and the bore to be measured from potential damage.
The system's measuring heads are remotely operated via a pneumatic activator powered by a 90 psi compressed air supply. Measurements are taken by pressing a footswitch that is connected to the air line; precise diameter results are then sent automatically to a high visibility digital readout in view of the operator.
All available readouts feature RS232 outputs enabling data transmission to PCs, printers, data-loggers, etc.
