Blue Ray BRaM 5-axis machine from Asquith Butler is for aluminium, composite and plastic materials

The Blue Ray BRaM 5-axis machining centre from Asquith Butler is made in the Czech Republic by Blue Ray, the company that also produces the Sahos brand and which is also sold by Asquith Butler.

The machine is designed for complex shape machining in aluminium, composite and plastic materials. It offers attributes to resist the ingress of dust particles, thus offering long service life, says the company.

The BRaM range covers X-axis capacities of 3,000 to 4,000 mm, 1,500 mm in the Y-axis, and 800/1,200/1,600 mm in Z. Positioning accuracy and repeatability is 0.02 mm in the three linear axes, while traverse speed is 80 m/min.

The ± 110 º A-axis is complemented by ± 400º of working range in the C-axis, while the 24,000 rpm spindle offers output of 18 kW. Control is by Heidenhain iTNC530 or Siemens 840D sl.
