BLM LT5 Lasertube pitched at small tube processing

BLM Group says that its LT5 Lasertube is an economically priced laser aimed at companies looking to break into the automated cutting of small to medium sized tubes.

The Lasertube LT5 is equipped with an IPG fibre laser that is capable of processing mild steel, as well as reflective materials such as aluminium, stainless steel, copper and brass. Furthermore, BLM says the machine also delivers improvements in energy efficiency compared with CO2 laser technology that result in 50% lower hourly operating costs.

Processing efficiency is generated by the LT5's ability to measure the length of each tube automatically during the pre-loading phase. This information is then used by the machine's control to optimise nesting and minimise waste material and reduce manufacturing costs, says BLM.

Once cut, the control can be programmed to unload parts either at the front of the machine or at the rear.
