Bencere's automatic back facing tooling solutions

The Bencere Autofacer is a back spot facing tool that enables the machining of hard to access internal component faces with features such as: back spot faces and counterbores; inside and outside diameter chamfers; spherical radii and special forms that are required on the inside of bores, all in a single automatic cycle.

The Autofacer tool has interchangeable blades offering a range of different configurations to produce features up to 2.2 times the diameter of any pilot hole the tool passes through. The Bencere Autofacer utilises a folding blade concept activated via a friction clutch to automatically open and close the blade from its housing in the body of the tool shank. This arrangement allows the tool head to pass through the bore aperture in the component, which can be between 6.3 and 128 mm diameter, and the blade then opens to machine the required feature on the reverse side of the tool approach face. While the blade is rotating the cutter blade is locked tightly against its seat to ensure a rigid and smooth cutting action allowing interrupted or irregular surfaces such as casting draft angles to be machined. Blades are available to suit a wide range of materials, including high temperature alloy steels, and accuracies of 0.0025 mm are achievable with the Autofacer system.
