Allgrip provides true running with 3 microns between tool and tool holder

An addition to LMT’s thermal shrinking tool chuck range, which is able to provide a runout accuracy within three microns between the cutting edge of a tool and its holder, now enables clamping forces of the tool shank to be optimised and provides the added ability to cater for tools having a wider tolerance on the location diameter of the shank. The patented AllGrip system will also accept high speed steel tools and can be used for roughing as well as finishing operations. AllGrip can be used with tools having shank diameters between 3 and 25 mm. It comprises a base holder that will accept a series of specially designed collets able to hold shank diameters with a wider tolerance band of h9 compared to normal collet tolerances which will only accept h5 or h6. The holder will also accept high speed steel tools between 3 and 6 mm shank diameter providing greater cushioning and higher clamping forces between the tool and spindle of the machine. So flexible is the AllGrip system, that tools assembled to holders using LMT’s shrink technology equipment will be able to be used on roughing operations as well as high precision and demanding finishing cycles. LMT Bilz’s AllGrip system gives greater flexibility and uses just three base sizes for holders covering 3 to 6 mm, 3 to 12 mm and 6 to 20 mm shank sizes with dimensions to suit all common tool spindles.
