Alicona unveils InfiniteFocus G5 optical measurement system
The fifth generation InfiniteFocus G5 from Alicona is being pitched as the fastest high resolution, optical 3D sensor in the form/roughness measurement class. Alicona says that the system impresses with a broader range of applications, better measurement robustness, greater automation and an increase in measurement speed of up to 20 times.
Billed as "one sensor for all surface characteristics", users benefit from a 3D micro CMM and surface roughness measurement device in a single system. According to Alicona, the range of measurable surfaces is almost unlimited, thanks largely to an LED ring-light. Furthermore, InfiniteFocus G5 can process 1.7 million measure points per second, making it suitable for a host of applications that include micro- and precision components, as well as micro-structured surfaces and cutting tool measurements.
