Alicona IF-ToolGrip extends sizes and types of tools that can be measured
The Alicona IF-ToolGrip is a grip that extends the range of sizes and types of measurable tools. It can be used to measure complex tool geometries repeatably and automatically.
Typically, the Alicona IF-ToolGrip is used to perform 3D measurements with the IF-EdgeMaster optical cutting edge measurement system. It enables the measurement of drills, milling cutters, etc, with diameters from 2 up to 30 mm and from 40 to 250 mm in length. The sample holder is tiltable from 0º up to 90º. In addition, tools can be rotated inside the V-shaped socket. An adjustable axial and a radial stop collar allows repeatable insert of the samples.
The IF-ToolGrip used with the respective IF-EdgeMaster, InfiniteFocusSL and InfiniteFocus Alicona measurement solutions can verify radii, rake, wedge and clearance angle of cutting edges of various tool sizes. The IF-ToolGrip allows a wide range of clamping positions for various of drill and milling tools.
