5-axis machine features various Mori Seiki novel technologies

The NMV5000 DCG is a 5-axis vertical machining centre which combines all of Mori Seiki's original component technology. Axis travels are 730, 510 and 510 mm in x, y and z - with the long x-axis allowing good crane axis for heavy workpiece loading and unloading (max workpiece weight is 300 kg). Good access also remains when the machine is fitted with a pallet oading sytem as this sits to the side of the machine. Direct drive (DD technology) features in the two rotary axes of the table, allowing for up to 1,200 rpm rotation in c-axis to support turning. By using Driven at the Centre of Gravity (DCG) technology, which minimises vibration during acceleration, and the "Top Box-in-Box Construction" in the upper part of the machine, which offers stable guides at high speed, even more precise machining has been made possible. Also, unlike other 5-axis machines, it has no overhang, allowing stable feed even at high speeds. And its heat-symmetrical design gives excellent thermal stability. Latest technology features throughout the machine, such as the spindle with the octagonal ram structure and the high-rigidity slideways, to ensure high-efficiency, high-precision machining.
