Yamazaki Mazak will officially open its new European Technology Centre on the site of its European headquarters in Worcester next month.

The new European Technology Centre will welcome its first guests at a major Opening Week event between 25 November and 1 December 2009 – to be one of them, visit www.mazak.eu/etc, call 01905 755 755, or contact your local Mazak sales representative. Occupying some 2,500 sq m, the European Technology Centre (ETC) has been described as a "landmark building", with its stunning glass frontage and environmentally friendly architectural design. The large, 1,320 sq m showroom is designed to display the complete range of Mazak machine tools under one roof, from the smallest 2-axis lathe to the largest, most advanced Integrex e-Machines. Mazak laser cutting machines will also be part of the display. "This significant investment shows Yamazaki Mazak's support for manufacturing and ensures we are best placed to demonstrate how value, innovation and performance will lead to increased productivity and profitability for Mazak customers – our VIPs," said David Jack, Mazak's European group managing director. "The Opening Week will give visitors an opportunity to see the very latest machines and the technology and manufacturing support we can offer in action." Visitors to the ETC Opening Week event will see machine tools that were launched at EMO Milan, including the Quick Turn Smart Series that provides incredible value and performance for 2 and 3-axis turning; the Megaturn Nexus 900, a large capacity, rigid, high performance vertical turning centre; and the Slant Turn Nexus 550M, which is setting the new standard in heavy-duty machining of large diameter components. Also on display will be the Integrex e-Ramtec that gives massive productivity benefits in the machining of large parts, including deep inner diameter turning and milling using the ram spindle. In addition to the array of machine tool and manufacturing technology on display, visitors will also experience how multi-tasking machines offer increased productivity benefits, thanks to Mazak's Done-in-One machining philosophy; how automation systems and factory management solutions will increase productivity; and the New Mazatrol Smart control, as well as Mazatrol MATRIX, with its Intelligent Functions, all of which deliver improved operator friendliness and productivity enhancing features.
