WNT is introducing Praxis, a series of metalcutting guides that will provide engineers with clear, concise and practical information on a range of metalcutting issues.
The guides will contain answers to ‘real-life’ questions that are being asked across a wide range of metalcutting application areas. In doing so, they will provide an additional problem-solving tool to a wide range of cutting tool users from machine operators to production engineers.
“Praxis, which is taken from the ancient Greek and relates to the art of putting theory into practice, is at the root of everything that WNT is about,” explains Tony Pennington, managing director, WNT (UK). “These Praxis guides will enhance our technical support here in the UK and will develop into a reference document that will be of great value to all our customers.”
The first of these guides is titled 'Applications and tips for best results in HPC-Milling', focusing on solid carbide high performance milling and is being mailed to WNT (UK)’s customers. Additional copies of the guide are available by contacting WNT (UK) on 0800 073 2073 or by e-mail from sales@wntuk.com.
The next guides in the series will be on the subjects of Tapping and High productivity turning of steel and cast iron. These will contain the same mix of practical problem solving that is aplied by WNT (UK)’s more than 30 technical sales engineers.
“As demands on engineers on the shop floor grow though rationalisation of manpower, we envisage that guides such as Praxis will have a major beneficial effect on the day-to-day problem solving that takes place up and down the country,” adds Mr Pennington. “Our aim at WNT (UK) is to make these problems as small as possible by providing as much technical support as we can, whether that is through Praxis or face-to-face with customers.”
