He is based at the company's recently opened headquarters and showroom in Towcester.
Until recently he was active in a sales capacity within the production engineering community, having sold cutting tools and workholding equipment for the last five years. Prior to that he was involved in capital equipment sales, but not in the machine tool industry.
Daren gained a BTEC National in engineering at Sutton Coldfield College and holds Basic Engineering Training qualifications parts 1, 2 and 3, which covers CNC machining, in addition to other engineering skills. He later completed a four-year toolmaking apprenticeship and gained NVQ Levels 2 and 3 at Concentric Pressed Products, Birmingham, where he stayed for seven years.
The CNC machines he is now responsible for selling in the West Midlands include a growing range of turning machines including vertical turning lathes as well as 3- to 5-axis machining centres encompassing high-speed variants.
All can be supplied with either a Fanuc or Siemens control. The machines are produced in a new, purpose-built factory in Taichung, which has a capacity to build 100 machines per month.
