Ward Hi-Tech package gives manufacturers confidence

Ward Hi-Tech has scored early success, following the introduction of its 'Confidence Package'.
The scheme is a machine tool purchasing offering that allows buyers to install a Dah Lih machining centre or a Hwacheon CNC lathe, with an option to return after a minimum of 12 months.
Ward Hi-Tech took an order for three Hwacheon turning centres and equipment within a week of launching the package.
Three driven tool Hwacheon Cutex 200 models with 8" chuck and bar loaders were ordered by a long established Northern aerospace contractor that needed immediate additional capacity to fulfil a current contract for precision barfed aluminium and stainless steel components.
"Our customer was guaranteed at least 10 months work for the lathes, but without assurances of a further extension to the contract, was unsure whether to commit to a substantial financial investment, particular in the current economic climate," explained Mike Burke, UK sales manager for Ward Hi-Tech.
Having been made aware of the 'Confidence Package', a visit to Ward Hi-Tech's showroom to view a demonstration of the Hwacheon Cutex 200 established that the machine was suitable.
In the South, precision sub-contractor Aerotech has also installed a Hwacheon Cutex machine.
Said Roger Foley, Aerotech managing director: "Having recently moved into a prestigious new high specification headquarters building and added five new Dah Lih machining centres to our existing capacity, we had the need for a further small precision CNC lathe, but frankly were a little concerned about the future economic outlook. Because of the uncertainty, we held off making a purchasing decision, until we were made aware of this really clever purchasing option from ward Hi-Tech."
The company duly installed a Cutex 200 8" chucking machine.
"This scheme certainly gave us the confidence to invest, knowing that we remain in control of our costs even if our circumstances change in the future," Mr Foley underlined.
