An independent survey indicates a huge proportion of visitors to MACH 2010 plan to purchase new manufacturing equipment over the next 3 years.

When asked how much they plan to spend, over 83 per cent said up to £250,000 in the second half of 2010 and nearly 71 per cent were expecting to spend the same again in 2011. The survey was sent to a broad section of visitors to MACH 2008. The results indicate MACH 2010 visitor numbers are expected around the same levels as last MACH, with a huge proportion planning to acquire new manufacturing equipment in the second half of 2010 and throughout 2011. • Over 91 per cent of people responded positively when asked if they intend to visit MACH 2010, with 61.5 per cent saying they definitely plan to attend. • 75 per cent of people agreed when asked if they believe MACH 2010 is the best place to find new suppliers of manufacturing equipment. Of that number, nearly 20 per cent would strongly agree. • 78 per cent plan to purchase new capital equipment over the next three years, with over 94 per cent saying their decision will be influenced by their visit to MACH 2010. • 88 per cent said the new equipment is to improve existing manufacturing processes, to expand current capacity, or to replace existing equipment.
