von Hollen was most recently the executive president of Bilfinger SE in Germany, and has held senior management roles at Daimler-Chrysler Services, Deutsche Telecom and Pentair.
He says: “I am excited to join Universal Robots as it works to fundamentally reshape automation across the global economy. The opportunity to lead and expand a high powered organization like UR with such a long term, high growth outlook is very rare and I look forward to working with our worldwide distributors, partners, and customers in the days ahead to realise the full potential of collaborative robots.
The company was acquired by US semiconductor test equipment firm Teradyne in May 2015.
At the time, former president Iverson said: “The combination will boost our ability to innovate and recruit even more and thus will extend our lead within collaborative robotics and be of benefit to all our end-users and partners. Our operations have been profitable since late 2010. Teradyne’s world-class engineering and support capabilities and strong financial position will help accelerate the growth of our collaborative robots in new and existing markets, especially in Asia where Teradyne holds a very strong position.”
Until then, the Danish Growth Fund (Vaekstfonden) has been the company’s main investor since 2008.
