With four apprentices already attending college and plying their trade, the cutting tool specialist has added a fifth young apprentice to the shop floor, while the sixth apprentice is undertaking a traineeship in accountancy.
Jack Pugh, 16, is the latest shop-floor apprentice and Abigail James, 16, has been employed in the accountancy role. Both new starters have recently completed their GCSE’s and ITC is continuing their education both practically in the workplace and academically at college.
Says managing director Peter Graves: “It’s critical to the future of the UK manufacturing industry that companies like ours, invest in training and educating school leavers that are interested in a career in this fantastic industry. It is our mission to nurture the talent of tomorrow and develop their skill sets on the most advanced CNC technology available.
“Our apprenticeship program has turned out some great talent down the years and past apprentices have turned out to be an integral part of our business. Furthermore, the youthful enthusiasm of these trainees has seen them flourish into motivated and career driven engineers that will drive our business forward for years to come.”
Two more apprentices for ITC
Cutting tools manufacturer Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has employed two new apprentices – adding to the four existing trainees already on-board.
