TT fan wins Honda jacket in Edgecam prize draw

Moog Aircraft facilities manager Paul Kingscott has won a Honda Race Team jacket signed by Isle of Man TT rider John McGuiness, courtesy of Edgecam.

The Honda Race Team donated the signed jacket to Edgecam as a thank you because it uses Edgecam to design and then machine aluminium motorcycle components at its facility in Louth, Lincolnshire. Honda says that Edgecam's flexibility for fast change has proved to be of immense value in the manufacture of specialist race bike parts, criteria for which are function, cosmetic appearance and weight, along with the need to get them right first time. Important too is that any changes made to the 3D design model are then reflected in updated Edgecam toolpaths. Moog Aircraft has recently relocated its 450 employees to a new multi-million-pound facility in Wolverhampton, with the firm having seven Edgecam licences for milling and mill-turn programming, used to support its more than 10 Matsuura, DMG and Okuma machines. The company manufactures components for commercial and military aircraft, with customers taking in Boeing, Bell and Airbus, and it is market leader in flight controls on military airframes and rotorcraft, including Eurofighter and Agusta Westland.
