Trumpf has appointed John Roche and Neil Smyth as TruTops sales/support engineers respectively for the North and the South of the country.

TruTops software takes in modules for design, programming, production control, as well as includes custom solutions. In design there is TruTops Unfold (video), for example, while its programming software tackles punching, laser profiling, bending, tube cutting and cell control. The new appointees' role, in pre- and post sales, is to work with customers to ensure the long term optimisation of manufacturing processes, as well as the successful introduction of new Trumpf software products and applications. "Software is a vital ingredient in the modern workplace, especially in process automation," explains Mr Roche. "These high technology machines rely on receiving the correct information, so choosing the correct software is absolutely critical." Mr Roche's background is in sheet metal production and software sales outside of Trumpf, whereas Mr Smyth has worked for many years in Trumpf technical support, and he concludes: "Bringing our combined knowledge to these new positions should prove to be invaluable to our UK customer base."
