Tritech Group, which claims to be the only aerospace investment casting business in the world with a factory in India, reports that its India facility has won AS9100 Rev C and ISO9001:2008 accreditation.

Headquartered in Wrexham, North Wales, the company now encompasses six sites, three in Wrexham; two in Barnstaple, Devon; and the latest one, which has just been completed, in Dharwad, India. Group technical director Steve Goodier, who coordinated Tritech Group's certification programme, praised the hard work of the personnel and said it enabled the company to receive the accreditation in less than a year. "Often implementing the AS9100 standards from start to finish can take upwards of two years, but we have managed to meet all the requirements in nine months, which is somewhat of a record. "The achievement helps cement our place in the aerospace industry, as most companies require suppliers to have this certification in order to do business with them. "It has taken many months of dedication to meet the standards required, but the hard work has paid off." Tritech India was audited by British Standards Institute (BSI). The company reports that its Dharwad factory is seeing interest and uptake from Indian, UK-based and global clients, with demand described as "phenomenal". The fact that Tritech Group is the only aerospace investment casting business in the world with a factory in India is offered as part of the reason. The new Indian facility was commissioned as a result of Tritech's venture with the Neterwala Group as part of a strategic global expansion plan. The dedicated factory in Dharwad has just recently been completed and is now supporting casting and machining trials at the site. In tandem with the expansion in India, the Tritech Group has also increased capacity at its Barnstaple-based foundry, together with the acquisition of a local machining facility to mirror the proven model that exists in Wrexham — total manufacturing solutions. Expansion is also ongoing in Wrexham where last November saw the opening of a new, independent facility — a fully dedicated group kitting and logistics centre that meets the increasing demand for this service from aerospace clients. In turn, this has created much needed space for further expansion within the machining division, as the company sees its machining order book grow at a pace.
