Training 2000 boosts apprentice training facilities with 600 UK technology

Blackburn-based Group Training Association Training 2000 has equipped its state-of-the-art engineering appreentice training facility with Colchester Student lathes and Europa milling machines.

Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire-based 600 UK supplied five Colchester Student manual centre lathes together with five Europa manual turret mills to enhance Training 2000's engineering apprentice training scheme. Training 2000 is a charitable trust, set up by a consortium of Lancashire businesses, and is now one of the largest Group of Training Associations in England, with over 40 years' experience of delivering work-based learning and training programmes to industry and individuals on a national scale, from small engineering toolrooms to large 'blue chip' manufacturers. Michael Hunt, operations director at Training 2000, said: "We have used the Colchester Student lathes for many years and they have proven to be a reliable and effective tool for training our learners. This additional resource has been integral to us meeting the increasing apprentice numbers along with the time they spend on the machines."
