Toolholding orders for Schunk at MACH

1 min read

Schunk Intec exhibited a selection of workholding, toolholding and automation solutions products at MACH, with a particular focus on products that deliver fast changeover times to improve productivity.

The Tendoturn hydraulic expansion toolholder system proved a hit with stand visitors resulting in a number of orders for the Tendo system being made during the week. The Tendoturn system can be applied to boring bars, drills, taps, reamers and many other fixed tool scenarios to deliver powerful, centric clamping with a high internal damping. The vibration damping performance results in excellent surface finish at high machining speeds, particularly in boring applications with long tool overhang. The Unilock Zero Point clamping family of products was also on display. This allows the operator to set up components to a 5 µm accuracy while the machine processes another workpiece, increasing productivity and reducing costs. Continuing the workholding theme, Schunk demonstrated Kontec vices and NSE modules, which are said to be particularly suited for use with tombstone clamping towers, while clamping solutions for round components were provided by the established range of Rota chucks.
