This move would grow the United Grinding Group, which already includes the Magerle, Blohm, Jung, Studer, Schaudt, Mikorosa, Walter, Ewag and IRPD brands.
The Group said that it has come to an agreement with Georg Fischer AG (GF) to acquire its GF Machining Solutions Division (GFMS) with the aim of strengthening its position in the market and serving its global customers with even more comprehensive solutions.
The United Grinding Group said that "together, United Grinding and GFMS will join forces to become a global leader in ultra-precision machining".
The transaction is valued between CHF 630 and 650 million (£560m) and is expected to close in Q1/Q2 of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
