The CNC Training Academy appoints to further strengthen its offering

CNC programmer and operator training specialist the CNC Training Academy has appointed Simon Yeomans to its training team.

Mr Yeomans joined the Academy in April as a CNC trainer and will be responsible, along with the other members of the training team – Jeff Hart and Karen Early - for delivering the Fanuc, Heidenhain and Siemens CNC programmer courses. The increase in the Academy's headcount reflects, it says, the growing demand amongst UK and Irish manufacturers for professionally-delivered, cost-competitive and results-led CNC training. This latest appointment follows hard on the heels of the Academy reporting best-ever sales results, for 2013, and the announcement that, from summer 2014, it will double training capacity at its Mills CNC Technology Campus location to four modern and fully-equipped training rooms. Apprenticeship-trained and with vocational qualifications in mechanical engineering and advanced CNC programming, Mr Yeoman has held a number of production engineer and applications engineer positions in different UK manufacturing companies. And he says he seen first-hand "the power and potential of training, and how upgrading and improving employees' skills-sets can deliver real, tangible and immediate commercial benefits". He adds: "I am delighted to have joined the CNC Training Academy and to be part of such a dynamic and progressive team. The Academy has an excellent reputation in the market and I am keen to help further strengthen its position."
